She is also a PhD candidate in Family Social Science\, specializing in Couple and Family Therapy at the University of Minnesota. Zamzam’s research focuses on refugee trauma and the intergenerational transmission of trauma in refugee family systems. Zamzam is also a second-generation Somali refugee.
