Fidgety Fairy Tales in Willmar, MN

Fidgety Fairy Tales – The Mental Health Musical is excited to tour Willmar area in October 2019! A cast of youth from the Twin Cities will perform three stories that raise awareness about children’s mental health.

Gentle humor and great music make this show fun for the whole family! Includes:

The Ants and the Grasshopper (AD/HD)
Mary Had a Little Lamb (anxiety)
Puss in Boots (autism)

A local cast of youth actors also will be a part of the show. They will perform Sleeping Handsome, a story raising awareness about depression.

Seeking Actors Ages 10 – 18 in the Willmar Area

We are currently accepting applications to be a part of the cast of Sleeping Handsome, a 10-minute musical that raises awareness about depression.

Sunday, 10/20 @ 1 – 5 PM
Tuesday, 10/22 @ 4:30 – 7 PM
Wednesday, 10/23 @ 4:30 – 7 PM
Thursday, 10/24 @ 4:30 – 7 PM
Location: Kennedy Auditorium in Willmar

Friday, 10/25 – Sunday, 10/27
Five performances in Willmar, Renville, and other nearby towns.
Actors will receive $20 per performance.

Directed by Matt Jenson and Marya Hart
Jenson and Hart are teaching artists from the Twin Cities who have written and directed Fidgety Fairy Tales since 2006. Jenson taught at the Children’s Theatre Company for 18 years and the University of Minnesota Dance Program for 14 years. Hart has taught at CTC for 20 years and has composed music for several theatre companies in the Twin Cities.

This activity has been made possible by the voters of Minnesota through an Arts Touring grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund. Additional funding from PACT for Families Collaborative.
