Youth Advisory Council
Youth MOVE MN is assembling an 8 member Advisory Council. We are seeking a diverse group of Minnesota residents between the ages of 13 and 25.
Ideal candidates will have experience within the systems of education, criminal justice, child welfare, and/or mental health. They will have a strong desire to improve those systems.
The Youth Advisory Council for Youth MOVE MN will serve as the governing body for our state chapter of Youth MOVE National. As a collaborative, youth-led council, it will determine matters of policy, budget, planning, and decision-making.
Beginning in January, council meetings will be held once a month at the Minnesota Association for Children’s Mental Health in St. Paul and facilitated by adult advisors.
The Youth Advisory Council will be responsible for planning and hosting a kickoff event and three workshops for Youth MOVE MN members to strengthen connections within the YMMN Network, build advocacy and leadership skills, and learn about issues impacting mental health, education, criminal justice, and child welfare services.
