April 9, 2024 | Conference Archive

April 18, 19, & 20, 2004 | Duluth Entertainment Convention Center | Duluth, MN
Many of the early conferences, including the 8th Annual Child and Adolescent Mental Health Conference focused on the theme of “Discover the Possibilities.” This was the third year the conference was hosted in Duluth.
It featured keynote speakers Dr. Ross W. Greene and Dr. Bertice Berry.
Greene is the author of “The Explosive Child,” which provides an understanding of inflexible, easily frustrated, explosive children, and describes a way to help these children at home and school.
Berry is the best-selling author of an inspirational memoir, “I’m On My Way, But Your Foot Is on My Head,” and the hilarious bestsellers “Straight From the Ghetto,” “You Might Be Ghetto If,” and the sequel “You STILL Ghetto.” She is also the author of two works of fiction; recipient of the coveted National Comedian of the Year Award from 1991 through 1994; and was named Campus Lecturer of the Year and Campus Entertainer of the Year while at Kent State University.
This conference was supported in part by the Department of Education.
